EFS 2023

Thanks to its experience and to its recognized know-how in the energy self-sufficient solar boats, the SunWave team has engaged in a new challenge : the SunWorker programme.

That program of hybrid solar passenger transport boats operates in partnership with the Groupe Transdev, one of the biggest operators in French public transport.

Together, we have designed a new model of an electro solar boat which allows to transport from 50 to 200 people at top speed of 22 knots. That boat is also equipped with an extra power supply in a hybrid modular form. That means it can come from different sources of energy in order to be adapted to the local distribution networks (NGV, Hydrogen).

A feasibility study, co-funded by the South Region, the ADEME and the city Aix Marseille Provence, has allowed to outline an innovative machine which will  revolutionize public transportation on coasts and on rivers.

We are now entering the demonstration phase which will be followed by the production of those boats.  The coast transportation market is world-wide and  the market shares those boats will take are a significant asset for the regional shipbuilding industry, both in terms of economy and in terms of employment…and all that in total respect of our environment.
